The Secret is in the Fit
When it comes to annealing, you can’t just wing it. If the wattage-to-length ratio is off, your glass suffers. We look at your existing transformer capacity and dial in the voltage and power to match. If you need that immediate thermal hit, we go with high-wattage shortwave tubes. This gives you a much tighter grip on how the glass cools. And we’re obsessive about the size. If a lamp is off by even 5mm, it won’t sit right in the reflector. That leads to hot spots, uneven heating, and a lot of wasted product. We build to your exact millimeter. No guessing.
The Right Stuff
We use high-purity quartz glass because it lets the IR transmission through without any fuss. Depending on what you’re actually making, we can add specific coatings. This is important because it pushes the heat into the glass substrate rather than just scorching the surface. As for the plug? We use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. They just slide right in. You won’t have to mess around with your wiring harness or spend hours modifying your setup. It just works.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Here’s the thing: high-density systems put out a massive amount of heat. That’s great for the glass, but it’s tough on your gear. It puts a real load on your power supply and cranks up the temperature inside the housing. Do yourself a favor and check your cooling fans. If they’re clogged with dust or dying, your lamps won’t last. We calibrate the filament tension to find that sweet spot between raw brightness and long-term stability.
