Getting Your Bathroom Warm (Without the Wait)
Ever stepped out of a hot shower into a bathroom that feels like a walk-in freezer? It’s the worst. Most heaters try to warm up the air, but in a drafty room, that heat just floats away to the ceiling while you’re still shivering. That’s why we use mirror infrared heaters. Instead of fighting the air, these things send heat straight to you. It’s like stepping into a patch of sunlight on a winter day. You feel it instantly. The secret is in the quartz. We use quartz heating elements that get hot in a matter of seconds. Because they use shortwave radiation, the heat actually sinks into your skin rather than just bouncing off the surface. This is a lifesaver in changing rooms or bathrooms where there’s a breeze. You don’t get that annoying “cold snap” the moment you move an inch away from the vent. Why the “Mirror” part matters. The mirrors aren’t there to look pretty. We put high-reflectivity aluminum reflectors behind the quartz tube to push all that energy forward. Think of it like a flashlight. Without the reflector, the light goes everywhere. With it, you get a focused beam. If we didn’t do this, about half your heat would just warm up your wall or ceiling. By focusing the beam, we get you warmer without needing to crank up the power bill. A few things to keep in mind for the install. These usually run on 220V-240V circuits, so you’ll want to make sure your wiring is up to snuff. And please, be obsessive about the seals. Water and electricity aren’t friends, and moisture loves to eat away at electrical terminals. Make sure your IP rating is right for where you’re putting the unit. One last tip: placement is everything. Because the heat is so focused, it’s intense right in front of the heater but drops off quickly as you step back. If you put it in the wrong spot, you’ll end up with one “hot zone” and a few freezing corners. Spend a little extra time planning exactly where you’ll be standing when you turn it on. Your skin will thank you.
