When you’re designing a heater for a bathroom or a baby’s nursery, you can’t just throw a heat lamp in the room and call it a day. You need warmth—and you need it right now—but you can’t risk hurting someone’s eyes. The problem is the “glare.” Most short-wave infrared heaters blast out a ton of intense visible light. It’s blinding. And for a newborn or someone stepping out of a shower, that’s just not okay. Protecting the eyes We handle this by shifting how the light behaves. Your basic quartz heater puts out a messy spectrum of light, including some pretty harsh blue tones. We don’t do that. Instead, we use special coatings and filtered glass to kill that blue-light peak. It dims the “blinding” part of the lamp while keeping the heat. You get that cozy, deep warmth that sinks into the skin, but without the optic nerve overload. It’s a much gentler experience. The nitty-gritty of the heat Inside the lamp, we use a precision-wound filament. We’ve dialed in the wattage so the temperature climbs steadily. You don’t want a sudden, shocking spike of heat; you want a soft glow. By balancing the filament temp and the gas inside the tube, we make sure the heat is spread evenly. No “hot spots.” That means no accidental burns when you’re just trying to keep a room comfortable. A few things to keep in mind Since these go in wet areas, we wrap them in moisture-resistant housings. They’re built to handle the damp. Just a heads-up for the electricians: make sure your breakers can take the initial “inrush” of power when the lamps first kick on. Now, there is a trade-off. Because we filter the light to keep eyes safe, these aren’t “instant-on” in the way a blinding industrial heater is. There’s a slight lag. You’ll feel the warmth, but it takes a few extra seconds to hit peak temperature. Sure, you could use a different grade of lamp if you wanted raw speed, but in a nursery? Safety wins every time.
