If you just guess the wattage, you’ll end up with a room that feels lukewarm. But if you go way too high to compensate, you risk overheating the housing. The trick is to look at your ceiling height and decide exactly how warm you want the skin to feel. And for peace of mind? Always wire it with a dedicated thermal cutoff. It stops the housing from warping if the unit runs at full blast for too long. Simple, safe, and it lasts.
