If a stray drop of cold water hits that scorching hot glass, it can shatter instantly. It’s called thermal shock, and it’s a mess nobody wants to clean up. So, how do we stop that? We use a specific kind of “explosion-proof” glass. Forget the fancy terminology—basically, we’ve integrated a fine-mesh safety net or reinforced the glass composite. Here’s the deal: when the filament gets red hot, the temperature difference between the glass and the air in your room is massive. If water hits it, the glass shrinks too fast in one spot and cracks. Our design makes sure that even if the glass does break, it stays contained. It doesn’t scatter shards across your floor. Keeping the guts dry That IP55 rating you see on the box? It just means we’ve sealed the housing tight. We’ve made sure dust and water jets can’t sneak into the internal circuitry. If moisture creeps into those electrical terminals, you’re looking at a short circuit or burnt-out wiring. Nobody wants that. One quick tip: check your wiring. These lamps pull a lot of power. If your wires are too thin for the wattage, you’ll notice the heat acting erratic or the voltage dropping. It’s worth double-checking before you flip the switch. A few things to keep in mind These things heat up instantly. It’s a great feeling, but they get hot. Don’t mount them right next to plastic fixtures or anything that might catch fire. Because they put out so much concentrated heat, the housing is built from materials that can breathe and shed that heat without warping. And a word of advice: don’t cram too many lamps into one tiny space. If you do, you’ll probably just trip the thermal cutoff and shut the whole thing down. Give them some room to work.
